Obituary for Kathleen King

A joyful reunion happened on Friday, September 8th, 2023 when our beloved Mom, Kathleen King, received the gift of everlasting peace and joy at the age of 87, joining her dear Calvie after 8 years.
Kathleen passed peacefully in the comfort of her own home surrounded by her family. 

Pre-deceased by her loving husband Calvin King of 56 years.  Also predeceased by Brother-In-Law Hector Hussey, Sister-in-Laws: Lesley Matchim, Beckie Moss, Madeline Bull.

Kathleen leaves behind a family whose hearts are filled with love, gratitude and memories to last a lifetime.  Children Glenn (Cathy), Gerry, Sandra Hendry (Jim), Sheila. 
Siblings: Ford (Marina), Melvin, Walter (Jean), Dorman (Peggy), Mary Ann Hussey, Barb Keats (Gary). 
In-laws: Leonard (Irene), Fred Moss, John Bull.  Grandchildren Jarrett King (Julia) and Heather Hendry. 
2 Great Grandchildren: Griffin and Maddox. 

Kathleen was President and long standing member of the Anglican Church Women (ACW) and will be remembered for her very quick, witty sense of humour, generosity, love for her friends and family. She was also known for her love of gardening and grand family dinners.    

Please join us in celebrating her life.. 
Visitation will take place Monday, September 11th at 2PM to 4PM and 7PM to 9PM at Oram’s Funeral Home, Eastport NL. 

Funeral Service September 12th at 11AM at Holy Cross Church, Eastport, NL. 
Service will be live streamed to Oram's Funeral Homes Facebook Page
Burial to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Eastport NL. 
Refreshments and fellowship to follow at Sandy Cove Hall.

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Holy Cross Good Shepherd Cemetery Fund in Eastport, NL.

 The family asks that to honor Kathleen, have a listen to “Jealous of the Angels’ by Donna Taggart:

“There will be another angel, around the throne tonight, you’re love lives on inside of me, and I will hold on tight”

It’s never too late to put love first and that no matter the circumstances, love one another as I have loved you.  John 13:34-35.
