Obituary for Catherine Emily Babstock

With saddened hearts, the family of Catherine Emily Babstock announces her passing on February 17, 2021 at JPM Hospital, Gander, at the age of 93.

Predeceased by husband Roy, Baby Boy and grandson Ryan Penny; brothers Lewis, Arthur and Alphaeus Handcock, sister Annie Piercey and twin-sister Martha Babstock.

Leaving to mourn with beautiful memories are her children Don (Rosalind), Mac (Lynda), Shirley (John Penny), Isabelle (Nick Dodson), John (Darlene), Terry (Elsie), Baxter (Roxanne), Brother Gordon Handcock (Margaret Rose) and brother-in-law Albert Piercey, and a large circle of nephews and nieces.

Grandchildren: Michael Babstock (Patricia), Carolyn Stanley (Steven); Neal Babstock (Melissa Spinicchia), Sue Dodson (Kenny McCawley), and Lori Dodson; Melanie Whalen (Roland); Melissa Babstock (Adam Giroux), Joshua Babstock (Teresa); Charlie Babstock (Ally), McKenzie and Leah Babstock (Anthony Vanden-akker); Terri-Lynn Leger (Curtis), Danielle Babstock (Dee Rees); Emily Babstock (Zach Abbott); and special friend Chantelle Johannson.

Great Grandchildren: Brooke Babstock; Hannah and Alex Stanley; Christopher Ridgeley, Alex and Tyler Babstock, Nicholas and Catherine McCawley; Jemma and John Ryan Whalen; Cadence and Devlin Babstock; Jeremiah, Veanna and Nyomie Babstock; Ben Leger; and special children Bronson and Winston Johannson.

Due to Covid-19, there will be no visitation. A private family service will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, Eastport.

In Catherine’s memory, donations may be made to Holy Cross Cemetery Fund.

A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at JPM Hospital who made her so comfortable and took such good care of her in her last days. Another special thank you to the wonderful staff at Oram’s Birchview Manor, Glovertown where she resided and who cared for her for more than five years. We are so grateful for everyone who was kind as she completed her journey.
