Obituary for Jeanette Smart

Jeanette was born in Lewisporte on April 17, 1935 and lived there until the age of 12, then moved to Glovertown. She worked at various jobs in her teens, working at a hotel, working as a store clerk and keeping house for several families.
She met the love of her life, Lloyd and married on her 18th birthday and went on to enjoy 56 years together. God blessed them with 5 Children: Maxine (John), Daphne (Barry), Tony (Marilyn), Wanda (Frank) and George (Goldie). Eight Grandchildren: Connie (Ed), Chantel (Ernie), Kyle, Zane, Noelle (Ivan), Allie, Sasha (Nathan) & Lacey. Six Great Grandchildren: Owen, Xavier, Anderson, Anthony, Lydia and Addison. They also lovingly opened their home to a large number of foster children. She was a mother and grandmother to many.
Jeanette gave her heart to the Lord in her teens. Since then, she loved & served God daily. She was a Sunday School teacher & Women’s Ministries member for many years. Her unwavering faith has left a tremendous testimony to all who knew her. She was also known for her kindness & her giving heart.
Jeanette passed peacefully away, surrounded by her family on February 3rd, 2020 at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Lloyd, Parents Selina & Duke Manuel, Step-father Ernest Smart, Sister Vera and brothers, Frank & Roy.
She leaves to mourn her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters: Madge, & Violet (Walter). Brother Bill (Ruby), plus a large number of family and friends.
