Passed peacefully away at James Paton Memorial Hospital on February 3rd, 2019 surrounded by his loving family and friends. Alton Reid, loving father, grandfather and Uncle. Predeceased by his wife, Joan Marie, infant son Aaron William, parents Robert and Lilias Reid and brother Winston Reid. Leaving to mourn sons, Shaun (Amanda), Trevor and Two grandchildren, Addison and Nicholas, whom he loved and adored. Also leaving to mourn sisters Joyce, Vivian, Dorothy (Bob), Elizabeth (Earle), Jacqueline (Leon), brothers Harvey (Betty), Terry (Ida), Robert (Carol), Charlie (Darlene), sister-in-law Maude, loving partner Myrtle, the Pittman family and a large circle of relatives and friends. A founding and dedicated member of the Bonavista Bay Ground Search and Rescue team and active Glovertown community volunteer, Alton had a love and passion for the outdoors, enjoying activities with family and friends in every season.
Visitation to take place at Oram's Funeral Home in Glovertown on Wednesday, February 6th, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Service to be held at St. Edwards Anglican Church in Glovertown on Thursday, February 7th, at 2:00pm. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Glovertown. In lue of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Edwards Anglican Church building fund.

Woods and trail, sea and stream.
Among birch, spruce and juniper trees.
Barren lands and rolling hills of green.
These special places I loved to be.
