To Margaret, Family Members & Friends,
The members of the Canadian Forces Supplementary Radio (SUPRAD) System Oldtimers Association were saddened by the news of Bruce's passing. All those who served with Bruce as a Radioman Special (RS rate) within the Royal Canadian Navy will long remember his leadership, friendship and good sense of humour. My first six-month tour in Alert, (the most northern permanently inhabited settlement in the world), was in 1964-1965. That was 55 years ago, so if Bruce was in Alert for a year long tour in 1965, then we must have crossed paths at that time. When Bruce retired in 1995, following his 37 years of dedicated service, he could not have picked a more beautiful part of Newfoundland to settle down and to continue with his writing and sketching. The Eastport Peninsula and in particular, Happy Adventure, are Newfoundland gems where everyone is called a friend. Please know that as members of your extended military family, we will be keeping you in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

My condolences to Bruce's family. My favourite BH cartoon: surveyors from the early 1900's and 1970's hanging out - the only differences: a team of horses vs a pick up truck.

Margaret and Family

Please accept Virginia and I's deep felt condolences to you and your extended family.

I only just found out, too late , about the passing of Bruce.

Bruce was one of nicest, funniest person I had the pleasure of knowing and working with for years. We had many good times commuting, even in the BIG truck, and yes sometimes reaching for the " passenger " brake pedal.

I have too many memories of Bruce and your family to list here, so it goes without saying that I was deeply sadden when I heard of his passing.

May he rest in peace and continue to sketch cartoons.

So sorry to hear of my cousin Bruce passing, not too long ago we chatted on facebook how he used to get me in trouble at church. He would sit behind me and when we sat to pray he would take off my shoe and dad would see me giggling . Good memories

Condolences to Margaret and the Hynes Family. My memories of Bruce go back over 40 years, through work at MCE and retirement. We were able to keep in touch through Facebook and my trips to Newfoundland, where it was possible to enjoy several visits. Rest In Peace my friend!
