Obituary for Madeline Caroline Bull (King)

It is with great sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Madeline Caroline Bull at James Paton Memorial Hospital, Gander on November 25th 2018, at the age of 84 years. She was predeceased by her husband John W. Bull, parents Roland and Nellie King, step mother Manie, and brother Calvin King.
Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are her son Gary (Cheryl), daughters Gail (Jake) Turner, and Brenda (Ira) Oldford as well as grandchildren Joanne (Conor), Christopher (Laura), Rebekah (Dave) Moen, Justin (Natalie), Russell and Bradley and great-grandchildren Johnny, Tommy, and Penelope. She is survived by her sister Rebecca (Fred) Moss, her brother Leonard (Irene) King and sister-in-law Kathleen King as well as a large circle of family and friends who will miss her dearly.
A warm, compassionate and giving woman, Madeline will be fondly remembered by a large circle of family and friends as someone who was truly committed to her community. She was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, where she received the Royal Canadian Legion Certificate of Merit for Outstanding Service. She was active in the ACW, TOPS, the Beaches Heritage Society and the Lions. She was recipient of the Eastport Peninsula Volunteer of the Year in 2011 and was inducted to Beaches Heritage Wall of Honour. She was also a long time member of the Holy Cross Church Choir and her love of gardening led her to spend many years arranging the flowers for the church. She welcomed everyone into her home with a smile, usually with a cup of tea and something she had baked. Her hospitality will be truly missed.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at JPMH, Dr. Jones and his team at Health Sciences Centre, and Dr. Cullerton and staff at the Gander Cancer Clinic for their kindness while she was in their care. One of the great comforts to her, as well as a source of joy, were all of the visits she received by her family and friends as well as Reverends Brian, Harvey and Juanita, during her illness.
Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at Oram's Funeral Home in Eastport on Tuesday, November 27th and Wednesday, November 28th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The funeral service will take place at Holy Cross Church on Thursday, November 29th at 2 pm with internment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
Flowers are welcomed or donations can be made to either the Holy Cross Cemetery Fund or the Poppy Campaign at Royal Canadian Legion Eastport.
