Condolence: I will never forget Wilf Cheator. He stands out as a wonderful man because of his love for his family and the remarkable contribution that he made to the Search and Rescue community. To me, Wilf was the best supply system manager that 103 Squadron ever had. He anticipated our needs well before any of us ever imagined we would need them. And because of him, we were the envy of the SAR community, because we could turn around the old mighty Labrador twice as fast as anyone else... and that is not all an exaggeration. His contribution saved lives, because our aircraft serviceability rate was second to none. He had parts nobody head ever heard of, and if they no longer were manufactured, he probably had the last one...and one more on top of that, just in case. Wilf Cheator will always be a legend in my mind, but not only for how well he did his job, but for how much he loved his family. I will miss spending time with him behind the plexiglass as we watched our kids and grandkids skate. It was so obvious how much he loved his grandchildren. They were his pride and joy. And I swear I saw him standing with Daniel on the podium today. Thank you Wilf. Always an 'Outcast'. Rescue!

Condolence: My sincere condolences to the family. My heart is with you at this sad time. Wilf was a loving husband father and neighbor. My fondest memories of Wilf were as we were growing up we would always see him outside in the winter shoveling his huge driveway even during a snowstorm night or day. This was great for all us kids that lived around him. It gave us a place to play hockey and play with our friends on his huge snow banks he created with his scoop. I can still picture him from my bedroom window. As a kid there were times I actually thought he was santa clause because he spent so much time in the snow. Since retirement, I would sometimes run into Wilf in Gander, when making a trip into town, and we always made time to chit chat and reminisce a bit.
