George Stead Sr. peacefully passed away on January 2nd, 2018 at the age 89 at Lakeside Home in Gander. He was born in Glovertown to loving parents Matilda(Hynes) and Theophilus Stead.

On October 26th, 1949 George married the love of his life Harriet Oram. He had 11 children, 18 grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great, Great Grandchild.

George could light up a room with his funny jokes and sense of humor. He loved going out the "bay" to his cabin and enjoyed spending time with his children and making everyone, family and strangers alike, feeling welcomed.

George is Predeceased by: Father Theophilus Stead, Mother Matilda Hynes, Sister Lucy Keats, Brothers Noah, Joseph and Thomas Stead. Daughter in-laws Flossie (Feltham) Stead and Marie (Glover) Stead

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 3 at Oram's Funeral Home in Glovertown from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm. Funeral service will take place on Thursday at 2:00pm from Faith United Church in Glovertown.
