Pastor Rita and Benjamin Elliott spent their life spreading the good news of the gospel, to many communities in NL. They travelled around the island by boat (The Gospel Pioneer) and held services in many coastal communities. They were first resident Pastors in Glovertown 1948, and Bonavista 1954. They concluded their ministry as Visitation Pastors at Windsor, NL in 1983. Pastor Rita started the first Women's Ministry at the Pentecostal Church in Glovertown in 1966. The early days of ministry within the Pentecostal Assemblies Of Newfoundland and Labrador were not easy, with very little money, however, on very limited resources this amazing couple managed to build churches and Parsonages in many communities. Pastor Rita moved to Oram's Birchview Manor in 2008, and became the counsellor for all of the staff at the home, as well as the head of canteen services. At the ripe age of 93 years old, she decided to learn  how to use her Ipad, and became a regular user of facebook and text her family and friends right up to the day before she passed.

Funeral Service to take place from the Pentecostal Church, Glovertown on Tuesday 2pm, with internment to follow at the Pentecostal Church Cemetery, Glovertown.
