Christopher (Chris) Wicks, passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 5th, 2017 just short of his 92nd birthday, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren at James Payton Memorial Hospital, Gander, NL. Christopher was born January 17th, 1926 on Silver Fox Island, he is survived by his devoted wife Serena Jane Wicks of 53 years; sons Wayne (Valerie), Barry (Angie); daughters Michelle (Lee), Charmaine (Dion); grandchildren Chantel, Tyler, Natasha, Christopher, Steven, Kayla, Colby, and Arianna.
Christopher was predeceased by his parents William and Sarah Ann Wicks of Silver Fox Island and older brother Martin, and survived by his cherished sister Eliza Seaward. He was born on January 17th, 1926 on Silver Fox Island, he along with his family resettled to Hare Bay in 1953, where he met his wife Serena Wicks they married in January of 1964. Christopher cherished his family above all else and was terribly proud of his children and grandchildren, he loved spending time with them and was the best role model, teaching them the value of hard, honest work. Christopher will always be remembered for his outgoing personality, friendliness, kindness, and sense of humour, he has left his family with so many memories and has taught everyone to be better people through leading by example. Christopher will be dearly missed by his Nieces and Nephews, many extended family members and friends.
In Christopher Wicks honour, donations may be made to the St. Augustine's Anglican Church in Hare Bay, NL. Viewing Service will be held on Thursday December 7th, 2017 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday December 8th, 2017 at 2:00pm at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, Hare Bay, NL.
