Obituary for Lucie Irene Fournier

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lucie Irene Fournier on the morning of November 26, 2017. Lucie was born in Montreal on August 24, 1956. She passed peacefully away at Lakeside Homes in Gander, NL with her husband Harold and her sister Marie by her side. A dog lover her whole life, it was fitting that her two dogs Brodie and Quinn were at her bedside as well.
Lucie will be greatly missed by her loving husband Harold Janes. She is survived by her mother Lise Fournier, her sisters Michele (Fraser Ritchie, recently deceased), Marie (Ulfar Gudjonsson) and France (Michael Laplante) as well as her brother Daniel (Elaine). Lucie was a very special aunt to her nieces Lise-Anne and Michelle. She was godmother to Trent and loving aunt to Derek, Marc-Andre, Kevin, Sigrun and Drifa. Lucie will also be missed by her brothers-in-law Robert (Angela), Eric (Barb), and Gerald (Joan). She will be fondly remembered by her extended family and dear friends as well as the many people who worked alongside her in her many and varied endeavors.
Lucie lived life to the fullest. She was awarded a special 125th Anniversary Confederation of Canada medal in 1992 in recognition of her significant contribution to her fellow citizens and her community. Lucie also earned the title of Business Women of the Year 1993, Montreal West Island Chapter. She had a great love of animals of all kinds. She was an accomplished horse rider and dog trainer and was so proud when her dog Quinn was rated 4th in Canada for obedience.
A beautiful woman gifted with intelligence, wit and compassion, our world is a better place because of her.
