It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Stella Beatrice Smith (nee Oram), following a very short struggle with illness. She had her family by her side when she passed peacefully away on November 3, 2017. She was predeceased by her father Sandy and infant son Melvin. Leaving to mourn with broken hearts her beloved husband of 59 years Dorman, her son Clay (Barb) and grandchildren Brandon and Becky along with her mother Jane and brothers Clayton (Judy), Albert (Maggie), Dawson (Elizabeth), Edgar (Mabel), Aubrey Geraldine, Pleman (Ellen), Pernell (Debbie), and sisters Gertie (Cal), Rose (Tom), as well as several nieces and nephews. Stella will be fondly remembered by her friends and extended family.
Stella was born on Braggs Island on November 18, 1939, the oldest of 10 children, she adapted to a role as another mother to all of them. Stella married Dorman and together they raised their son Clayton. Stella’s life was further brightened by the addition of her grandchildren who she adored. She was a strong, loving, passionate, and family oriented woman. Stella was always there to offer support, encouragement and guidance. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
Resting at Oram’s Funeral Home, Glovertown. Visitation on Sunday November 5, 2017 from 7pm – 9pm and again on Monday November 6, 2017 from 2pm – 4pm and from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral Service to take place at 2 pm on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 Glovertown Pentecostal Church.
