Obituary for Carl Collins

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carl Collins, age 75 years, on May 28, 2017 at his own home in Hare Bay, NL after a short and courageous battle with cancer.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Sylvia (Wilkins), father, Frederick Collins, sisters and brother, Irene, Maryann, and Cecil Collins, son-in-law, Matthew Robert, and grandson, Jonathan Goudie.

Leaving to mourn are his daughters: Sandra Clarke (Frank), Dawn Goudie (Lorne), Sharon Forester-Bennett (Anthony), and Beverly Chard (Todd), six granddaughters: Natasha (Graham), Jennifer (Andrew), Jasmine (Alex), Jessica, Ruth, and Katie, two great grandsons: William and Charles, and a large circle of family and friends.

Dad had a passion for spending time in the outdoors. Particularly, he enjoyed hunting (moose and small game), berry picking, trouting, and spending 'time in the woods.'

He also had a great love for the local church and dedicated many volunteer hours at Hare Bay Pentecostal Church.

Visitation will be at Hare Bay Pentecostal Church on Tuesday, May 30, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm and Wednesday, May 31, 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be at Hare Bay Pentecostal Church on Thursday, June 01 at 2 pm. Committal service to follow at Hare Bay Pentecostal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to Atlantic Hope Women's Centre, Teen Challenge Newfoundland and Labrador.
