Condolence: Just read the obituary of Mr. Riggs, and, it brought back memories of my year spent teaching in North West River in 1972. I well remember my visits to Todd House and engaging in conversations with Mr. and Mrs. Riggs. Evelyn, as I recall, your father and your mother were "house parents" at this boarding house for students from various smaller communities. Together, with Lidy and Louise from Holland, they did a magnificent job at attending to the needs of both the younger and older residents living far removed from their families.

And, Evelyn, you were among my brightest grade 10 students, and, you were an outstanding contributor to student activities at the newly opened, uniquely constructed Lake Melville High. I seem to remember that you had a strong interest in astronomy.

My condolences to you and your family on your father's passing, and, may the fond memories of shared times with him remain with you all forever!

Condolence: First and only contact was the summer I spent at the Conservation Corp at TNNP. He was a man inspiration,motivation and passion! A very gentle soul who had a profound effect on this 16 year at that time!
